What is Ignite!?

The Ignite! is a popular format of presenting and learning that enraptures the audience and provides a unique platform for speakers. Encapsulated in the Ignite motto “enlighten us, but make it quick,” each Ignite is exactly five minutes long. Presenters share their personal and professional passions, using 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds.

Past Public Health in the Rockies Ignite! sessions have been raucous, fun, and informative. Presenters talk on any subject related to their life or work: something they are personally or professionally passionate about. This year’s conference celebrates the 10 year anniversary of the Colorado School of Public Health with a theme of ‘Better Together: Past, Present, and Future’. Presenters are asked to submit a topic relating to the theme as it relates to public health in their personal or professional life.

Keep it fun, keep it exciting, keep it creative!

Here are examples of public health Ignite! presentations:

* “A Dog Discovers Denver: How Neighborhoods Impact Health”

* “If you thought Ebola was bad…”

* “Big soda: The new big tobacco”

* “It Takes a Village…for Successful Prevention Partnerships!”

* “Innovative Technology for Rural and Underserved Patients”
